Job description

Charles Kao STEM Educational Research Center (CK STEM)

CK STEM is a nonprofit organization within the ISF Academy Foundation dedicated to AI teaching and learning, implementation of emerging technologies in curriculum, industry partnerships, and commitment to preparing students for future work capabilities.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and multi-faceted Chinese Industry Technologist to join our innovation team. This role is pivotal in connecting our K-12 educational framework with the real-world technological advancements of the Greater Bay Area (GBA). You will be responsible for assessing emerging trends in Chinese tech industries—including AI, robotics, fintech, and green tech—and translating these insights into actionable educational programs, industry partnerships, and student mentorship initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a bilingual professional who understands the "speed of China" and is passionate about preparing students for a future defined by regional and global innovation.

Job Responsibilities:

●     Industry Assessment & Intelligence: Monitor and analyze technological shifts within the GBA (Shenzhen, Guangzhou, etc.). Identify emerging sectors and key players (e.g., DJI, Tencent, BYD) to ensure the school’s STEM/ICT curriculum remains industry-relevant.

●     Curriculum Integration: Collaborate with academic leads to infuse real-world "China Tech" case studies into the K-12 curriculum. Design modules that explore the practical applications of Chinese innovation.

●     Stakeholder & Partnership Management: Act as the primary liaison between the school and tech enterprises in the GBA. Secure site visits, guest speakers, and internship opportunities for senior students.

●     Project Leadership: Oversee "Innovation Labs" or specialized tech projects. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of student-led technical initiatives from ideation to prototype.

Bilingual Communication: Produce high-level reports and presentations in both English and Chinese for the school board, parents, and external industry partners.

Job requirements

Required Qualifications:

●     Language Mastery: Absolute fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and verbal). Proficiency in Cantonese is a significant advantage given the GBA focus.

●     Regional Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Greater Bay Area’s economic and technological ecosystem, including local government policies and industrial clusters.

●     Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate across diverse teams (technical and non-technical).

●     Educational Mindset: While a teaching degree is not strictly required, you must demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children and teenagers (ages 5–18) and a commitment to their safeguarding and development.

Preferred Experience:

●     Tech Industry Background: 3+ years of experience in a technical or analytical role (e.g., Product Management, Tech Consulting, or Engineering) within the Chinese market.

●     Cross-Cultural Competence: Experience navigating the nuances between Mainland Chinese corporate culture and international educational environments.
